A Letter from our Board President

Leadership Arlington has been a vital part of the Arlington community for over 40 years.  Our program helps in the discovery of our great city and where it’s leaders might serve/lead.  Key community leaders are speakers in the program, and they share their own challenges and experiences while encouraging the class to step up into leadership.  The youth program, which sets us apart from other local leadership groups, largely replicates the path of the adult program.  Arlington area high school juniors spend time with area leaders and are challenged each month to better understand the complexity of city issues and how they can make an impact now. Assessing leadership types and strengths while highlighting areas to serve/lead is where our organization shines.  We want Leadership Arlington to be the place where local organizations find servant leaders.

This year we are centered around safely and productively managing our organization as we come out of the pandemic.  With a focus on reconnection, my goals are to reengage our alumni network, meet in person safely (as classes and board) and to make an impact in service to our community. Reengaging the alumni network will be a priority for our board because the past membership of the organization is the reason it is so successful. Our board planning the last few years has established a consistent, measurable, and thorough program that we can be proud of offering.  As we move forward, we’ll continue to refine and improve the product that we deliver to the community.  We have already seen how our program is helping shape Arlington in 2021 and we are excited about what is in store for next year!
