2025 Sally Kallam Award

In 1988, Leadership Arlington devised an alumni leadership award to be given to an individual who best emulated the ideals of leadership through efforts devoted to Leadership Arlington and the community. The first award was presented to Sally Kallam and thereafter named for her.

About Sally Kallam

Sally Kallam had the vision which became Leadership Arlington. Sally participated in Leadership Fort Worth and believed Arlington would benefit from such a program. The Chamber of Commerce, UTA and the Junior League were approached for support. A steering committee was formed and the first class was held in 1980. Sally remained as the Executive Director of Leadership Arlington until her relocation from Arlington in 1989.

2025 Award Recipient

Dr. Kenyon Godwin, D.C., is the 2025 recipient of the Sally Kallam Award, Leadership Arlington’s highest honor for community service, and a truly fitting choice.

Since founding Active Family Wellness Center in 2010, Dr. Godwin has been a pillar of the Arlington community. A U.S. Air Force veteran and former chairman of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce, his impact extends far beyond chiropractic care.

As Chamber Chair, Dr. Godwin was known as “The People’s Chair,” championing small businesses, veterans, and underrepresented entrepreneurs. He also founded D.R.E.A.M.S. Consulting during the pandemic, providing leadership coaching and life planning tools to help others pursue purpose and balance.

His commitment to service stretches internationally—volunteering in medical clinics in Kenya—yet remains deeply rooted in Arlington, where he continues to empower families, patients, and civic leaders alike.

In every role—clinician, coach, entrepreneur, and advocate—Dr. Godwin exemplifies the values of the Sally Kallam Award: servant leadership, local impact, and a steadfast commitment to building a better community.
